Superjews of Ajax

A film about symbols and identity. An Israeli woman living in Amsterdam investigates why fans of the Ajax soccer team have appropriated the nickname "Superjews" – complete with Star of David hats, Israeli flags and songs like "Hava Nagila."

Through the film we meet football hooligans, an Ajax archivist, former Ajax president Uri Coronel and a Holocaust survivor. All consider themselves "Jews." The film asks what gives a person their identity? Is being born with an identity enough or is it simply the wish to be in a particular group that determines  identity? 66 minutes,www.viewpointdocs.com
