Life on the Border

A remarkable documentary depicting eight Kurdish and Yazidis children from Kobani and Shengal who record their lives and experiences in the wake of brutal attacks and abductions of family members by ISIS. A deeply moving portrait told in a cinematic scale that brings to home the current refugee crisis.

Birhat is 13, his parents are in the hands of ISIS. His little sister was also captured but later escaped. She has not spoken since her ordeal but she is ill and urgently needs an operation.

Besameh is a young Izadi girl. She escaped ISIS but lost her arm to a landmine.

And there is Sami, Rounahi, and others whose tales of the refugee camp and threat of ISIS bear witness to life on the edge of a land torn apart.
